Seb's 180 degree rule scene

Interrogation scene

Are scene was about an interrogation about the murder of somebody.

the task we were set was to film a scene that communicates the idea of power between 2 people.

the script we came up with:

Close up shot of cctv.

IN: What I don’t understand is not one CCTV ever saw you at the bar.

SP: I- I- I was there. You can ask Mikey.

IN: Mikey’s dead.

Silence

SP: I didn’t do it.

Stands up. Starts pacing around the room.

IN: It’s been 3 hours and you’ve given me 4 different alibi’s, each one of them being in 4 different places at the same time, how is this possible?

SP: I-I just can’t right now.

IN: Listen, I know you did it. I just want to know why.

SP: I was at the bar.

IN Sit’s back down

IN: What I don’t want is for me to give you respect and for you to treat me like a dumbass. You can’t even sit up and look at me.

IN: We know you weren’t at the bar, you were somewhere else. I know that you went into the woods.

SP: I was not in Morristown. I was at the bar I already told you.

IN: Morristown? That’s where we found Mikey. Who else would know where we found him but the killer.

Here the Mise en scene of body language has been used to indicate power as Arthur has his arms on the desk causing him to take up more space making him appear more powerful.
This hear is a tracking shot, the camera pans left and right to follow Arthur which emphasizes his importance over Mia.
In this first shot reverse shot, Mia is framed small in a over the shoulder shot and Arthur is framed big in a medium closeup which further pushes the idea he is bigger then Mia meaning he is more powerful.

I feel this short scene established a power dynamic very well, if I were to film this again I would just be more cautious to make sure I refilm a shot if it is not good. when discussing with peers others could easily understand the meanings from are camera and editing and Mise en scene decision's.

Jurassic park recreation

 Jurassic park recreation.

Are task here was to recreate to the best of our ability the shots in the jelly scene in Jurassic park.

in my team there was me (the girl in the scene), Alistair (the boy actor in the scene) and Zach who did the camera work. luckily I was able to do some of the camera work as well.

this is the dinosaur prop we used in our film that Alistair brought from home

shot list we came up with

this is when I got to shoot quite a complex shot which was shot 5, where the focus changes many time and whilst having to alter focus I also had to push in

Me and my team discussing how to do the dinosaur sneeze:

reflection:
I am not to pleases with how this came out however when making this film I learnt the importance of using a tripod as much as possible and having a nice exposure.
